The Robert S. Wistrich Memorial Lecture 2020
with Dr. Yoram Lass
by The Berlin International Center for the Study of Antisemitism (BICSA) and Verein für Gesellschaftskritik und Antisemitismusforschung e.V. https://www.bicsa.org/the-robert-s-wis…
May 19, 2015, historian and leading scholar in antisemitism, Professor Robert S. Wistrich (1945-2015), Director of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism (SICSA) at Hebrew University, Jerusalem, died in Rome. Robert was a friend, colleague, and ally. We miss him. To keep the memory of this wonderful person, vibrant public intellectual and outstanding scholar alive and to learn from his scholarship, the Berlin International Center for the Study of Antisemitism (BICSA) and the Verein für Gesellschaftskritik und Antisemitismusforschung e.V. will held the yearly „Robert S. Wistrich Memorial Lecture.“
May 26, 2020, BICSA Director Dr. Clemens Heni spoke with Dr. Yoram Lass, former Israeli Director-General of the Ministery of Health and former Knesset Member (Labour).
He has been involved with the Sackler Faculty of Medicine of Tel Aviv University for over 50 years now.
BICSA fights antisemitic conspiracy myths by neo-Nazis, Islamists, and many other people around the world concerning the Corona crisis. BICSA also fights the current wave of antidemocratic measures taken by almost all governments around the world, the so-called „Lockdown“ of entire countries.
As Yoram Lass explains, the flu is as dangerous as the Coronavirus or even worse – just take the numbers. At the core of our Corona crisis is the irrational fear. To fight this fear it will take a very long time – as we are all, including ourselves – 24/7 „brainwashed“ ever since late February 2020, as Lass emphasizes.
In his Robert S. Wistrich Memorial Lecture 2020 on May 26, Yoram Lass spoke about the current Corona crisis and why the mass panic is a threat to our democracy – much worse than the Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 itself.
